The climatic data collected by national meteorological services do not systematically cover the diversity of arid region spaces.

Furthermore, the reported climatic parameters are not qualitatively sufficient to meet the needs of the planned studies and research programs. To address this data deficit, it is proposed:

• To complete the climatic parameters with the missing variables;
• To establish a network of agro-meteorological stations specific to arid zones.

For the promotion of renewable energies (geothermal, solar, and wind), it is proposed to implement, through experimental sites, actions of observation, measurement, promotion, monitoring, and evaluation aimed at dissemination and large-scale exploitation.
